Our tip
A hidden viewpoint with wide views of rolling hills, mist-covered valleys and green forest. Peaceful, and good for catching the sunrise away from the crowds. Bring your camera; the views are best in the monsoon and winter months. From our guest guidebook

What to expect
A landscaped viewpoint looks over the still water of the Karapuzha reservoir, with bamboo seating facing the sunset, walking paths and a children's play area. Kerala Tourism also runs guided village tours here, with tribal crafts such as thudi drum making, archery and a visit to traditional Kurichya homes.
Plan your visit
- Go for the last hour of daylight and watch the sun go down over the water.
- Wear sturdy shoes in the monsoon; the ground gets muddy.
- Treat the village with respect, and ask before photographing people.
Safety
Do not wade or swim in the reservoir. The clay bed is slippery and the depth changes suddenly.
