The route

Five stops, from the coffee rows to the cup

The walk follows the coffee in the order it grows and gets made.

  1. A guest walking the estate track between coffee bushes and areca palms
    Stop 1

    Into the coffee rows

Follow the estate track between coffee bushes and tall areca palms. See the leaves, the berries in season, and why coffee here grows in shade.

  2. Holding a spike of green pepper on a vine, with coffee bushes behind
    Stop 2

    Pepper on the trees

The same trees carry pepper vines. Find the green spikes and learn how they are picked by hand and sun-dried black.

  3. A young visitor lying on a yard of coffee cherries drying in the sun
    Stop 3

    The drying yard

In harvest season the yard is covered in cherries drying in the sun for about three weeks, raked every day until the beans rattle.

  4. Freshly brewed coffee poured into a cup on a wooden table
    Stop 4

    The tasting table

Sit down to KAAPO from this estate, brewed more than one way, including South Indian filter kaapi. Taste how the roast changes the cup.

  5. KAAPO coffee pouch
    Stop 5

    Take it home

Buy the coffee you just tasted, straight from the estate. Our pepper and forest honey are coming soon.
