What to expect
A short signposted path and a flight of steps bring you to a shallow pool below the falls. Bamboo barricades keep visitors away from the dangerous rocks near the drop. It is smaller and much calmer than Soochipara; on a weekday you may share it with only a few people.
Birds to look for
Malabar grey hornbill, white-throated kingfisher and common flameback woodpecker are regulars here. DTPC also runs a riverside trek of about two hours.
Safety
Stay behind the barricades: the wet rocks hide deep cracks. Avoid bathing in heavy rain and keep a close eye on children, even in the shallow pool.
